School Site Council

Montague receives special funding from the State of California to implement a School Improvement Program.  Six parents and five staff members serve on the School Site Council (S.S.C.) as advisors for the program.  The S.S.C. is responsible for developing a School Improvement Plan and budget to meet the needs of all students.  In the past, this program has provided for a computer lab, the school art program, parent workshops, math material and literature books.

Each year, the Montague School Site Council plans for and oversees the use of our School Improvement Program funds.  This calls for constant reviewing, evaluation and revision of our School Improvement Plan.  This committee determines areas in the school plan that have priority for improvement funds.  This year the emphasis for school improvement will be mathematics and writing.

The School Site Council meets monthly and meetings are open to any parent, staff and community members with an interest in participating in reviewing the Montague School Improvement Plan.  Please join us as we work with the school staff in implementing an improvement plan that ensures the success for all students.
