How Parents Can Help
Our goal this year is to have 100% parent participation. Parents can participate in a variety of ways. Please look at the list below to find out how parents can help. Even if you can not volunteer any of your time, we could use your talents, job connections or company donations.
Room Parents
Help plan and organize class parties and field trips. (Amount of time: depends on teacher)
Computer lab volunteer
Each class needs a computer lab volunteer. The volunteer will assist students and keep track ofprograms used. (Amount of time: Minimum - once/week for 1/2 hour)
Tutoring
Tutors are needed to assist students either individually or in small groups with class work. (Amount of time: Minimum - once/week for 1/2 hour)
PTO (Link: Montague Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization)
The Montague Parent Teacher Organization will need many volunteers throughout the year to help with various activities. PTO will be sending out notices as they need volunteers. (Amount of time: depends on activity)
School Site Council
The School Site Council is actively involved in monitoring the School Improvement Program and budget. Interested parents are encouraged to attend the monthly meetings. (Amount of time: once a month 1 1/2 hours)
Clothes Closet Volunteer
Help to organize and maintain our clothes closet. Can be during or after school hours. (Amount of time: minimum once/week, 1 hour)
Library Volunteer
Help students in the library select and check out books. (Amount of time minimum once/week, 1/2 hour)
Book Fair
During the last week of February. Assist students with purchases.
Walk-A-Thon
Help check in laps, serve water, clean up and sign in volunteers.
Web Page Design and Maintenance
Build and update the Montague webpage using campus grid (Amount of time: Initial set-up and once/month)
Santa's Secret Workshop
Help students purchase gifts for the holiday season in December.
Office Help
Help in the office with clerical needs such as running papers, collating.
